Azerbaijan hosts international poultry forum

The purpose of the event was to expand Azerbaijan's export opportunities to Russia and other member countries of the Eurasian Union. President of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs (AEC) Mammad Musayev noted the importance of poultry and the forum for the country. "Poultry farming has state support to ensure food security in the country. This has allowed to meet 98% of domestic demand for poultry meat and 100% for domestic demand for eggs," Musayev said. He estimates that poultry farms have 10.2 million birds, each laying an average of 106 eggs a year. According to the chairman of the Azerbaijan Poultry Society Aydin Valiyev, the country produces 100,000 tons of poultry and 1.5 billion eggs annually. In general, the forum was dedicated to the search for export markets for poultry, its access to CIS markets. To this end, the AEC and the Eurasian Poultry Union have signed a cooperation agreement. The President of the Eurasian Association, Sergei Shabayev, officially noted the great potential for cooperation with Baku in this area.
